The Theatre Technical Director is responsible for supervising and coordinating the technical aspects of school theatre productions, including lighting, sound, and scenic construction. This position provides leadership, training, and oversight to student technicians to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality production outcomes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Supervise and coordinate technical elements of theatrical productions, including lighting, sound, and set construction
• Provide instruction, guidance, and supervision to student technicians in the safe and appropriate use of technical equipment
• Assist in the planning, construction, installation, and strike of scenic elements
• Collaborate with the director and production team to support the artistic and technical needs of each production
• Maintain inventory, organization, and general upkeep of all technical theatre equipment and materials
• Ensure compliance with district policies and safety procedures in all technical and production activities
• Support the scheduling and execution of technical rehearsals and production timelines
• Perform other duties as assigned by the building administrator or activities director

Qualifications:

• Demonstrated knowledge of theatrical lighting, sound systems, and scenic construction techniques
• Ability to supervise students and manage multiple technical tasks effectively
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Prior experience in technical theatre preferred

Terms of Employment:

• Extra duty assignment; compensation in accordance with the district’s supplemental salary schedule
